Tooth Extractions

Extraction is never the first option. We always look for ways to save the tooth first. But when a tooth is too far gone from decay, infection, or trauma, removing it is sometimes the best path forward. Dr. Lee performs both simple and surgical extractions with a focus on keeping you comfortable and informed.

Tooth Extractions

When Extraction Is Necessary

A tooth may need to come out when decay has destroyed too much structure for a filling or crown to work, advanced gum disease has loosened the tooth beyond repair, a crack or fracture extends below the gumline, overcrowding needs to be resolved before orthodontic treatment, or wisdom teeth are impacted and causing problems.

Dr. Lee always explains why extraction is being recommended and walks you through replacement options like implants, bridges, or dentures before anything happens.

What to Expect

For a simple extraction, Dr. Lee numbs the area, loosens the tooth, and removes it. The whole thing typically takes 20 to 30 minutes. Most patients are surprised how straightforward it is.

Surgical extractions, like impacted wisdom teeth, may take a bit longer and involve a small incision. Either way, you're fully numb and comfortable throughout.

Afterward, we send you home with clear aftercare instructions. Most patients manage any discomfort with over-the-counter pain medication and are back to normal within a day or two. We schedule a follow-up to check healing and talk about replacement options if needed.
