Dental Bonding

Dental bonding uses tooth-colored composite resin to repair chips, close small gaps, cover stains, and reshape uneven teeth. It's one of the fastest and most affordable cosmetic treatments we offer. Most bonding is done in a single visit with no anesthesia needed.

When Bonding Makes Sense

Bonding works well for a small chip on a front tooth, a gap between two teeth that's always bothered you, a single tooth that's discolored or oddly shaped, or exposed root surfaces from gum recession.

It's a great option for patients who want a visible improvement without the cost or commitment of veneers. It's also a good choice for kids and teens whose teeth are still developing.

Composite resin isn't as stain-resistant or long-lasting as porcelain. Bonding typically lasts 5 to 10 years before needing a touch-up. But for the speed, cost, and the fact that it's completely reversible, it's hard to beat.

What Happens During the Procedure

Dr. Lee selects a resin shade that matches your natural tooth color. He roughens the surface slightly, applies the resin, and sculpts it into the right shape by hand. A curing light hardens the material, and then he polishes it smooth.

The whole process takes 30 to 60 minutes per tooth. No lab work, no second visit, no waiting. You walk out with the fix done.

Composite resin can pick up stains from coffee, tea, wine, and tobacco over time. Not as stain-resistant as porcelain veneers, but good hygiene and limiting heavy staining keeps it looking its best.

Bonding done for structural repair like fixing a chipped tooth is often partially covered. Purely cosmetic bonding may not be. Our team checks your benefits before treatment so you know what to expect.

Bonding is applied directly to the tooth in one visit using composite resin. Veneers are custom-made porcelain shells fabricated in a lab and bonded at a second visit. Veneers last longer and resist stains better, but bonding is faster, cheaper, and doesn't require removing any enamel.
